Media Diet
A constantly updated guide in which we bring together research on the changing consumption of information and online services by Brazilians.
In 2009, Wired magazine published a piece comparing our feeding habits to our media consumption. Just as balanced nutrition is positive and healthy, so is a diversified use of media for our society. So, how do Brazilians feed on the information in the digital environment? What are their favored media formats? And how do these behaviors add to practices such as the dissemination of fake news? This InternetLab project aims to investigate these and other aspects of the Brazilian digital media diet. As a first initiative, we organized a live, continuous, and collaborative guide of the primary research sources on the subject, divided into three axes:
- Connectivity, online user profiles, digital media consumption, TV, radio, etc;
- Characteristics and inequalities in the use of digital media;
- The advertising market and its peculiarities, and
- Media consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic.
