Marília Monteiro is an MPP candidate at the Hertie School of Governance, member of the Working Group on Consumer Law and Information Society of the Consumer Office of the Ministry of Justice (Senacon) and Board Member at Coding Rights. Previously, she acted as the Coordinator for the Information Society at the Department for Consumer Protection and Defense in the Ministry of Justice (Brazil). She has worked in partnership with Rio’s Institute for Technology and Society in the project “Spam Fighting in Brazilian Internet – History and afterthought” of the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee coordination for spam fighting and port 25 management and “PrivacyLatam”. She served as research assistant at the Brazilian Internet Observatory, a partnership between the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee and the Center for Technology and Society at Getulio Vargas Foundation. She holds ma LL.B from the same institution.
