Law degree from the University of São Paulo (1972) , Masters in Law from the University of São Paulo (1977) , Ph.D. in Law from the University of São Paulo (1981) and post-doctorate from Wisconsin University (USA, 1984) . He is currently a professor in the Department of Philosophy and General Theory of Law, Faculty of Law, University of São Paulo. He has experience in the Sociology of Law , acting on the following themes : social change, power and legitimacy, human rights, globalization, transformation of the judiciary, methodology of legal education, legal rights and social effectiveness. He was one of the winners of the “Prêmio Jabuti” for Literature in 2012, in the category of law books .
